I am a huge fan of all things New Weird. Anything involving the unexplainable mixed with the mundane is likely right up my alley. This song is a celebration of that uncanny world, where the incomprehensible disguises itself as everyday life, and unwary souls can get lost, possibly forever.
lyrics
I down another whiskey
Check into my room when it hits me
Have I been here many times before?
This place feels awfully familiar
Could it just be deja vu?
Or have I checked into the Oceanview again?
All down wood paneled hallways
I navigate a twisted maze
Can it be real or am I in a daze?
Dreamscape illogic
I swear this place is infinite
Now I don’t what is true
I think I’ve checked into the Oceanview again
When I reach the front desk
I ring the bell for service
The metallic chime is drowned in the silence
Have I waited here all my life?
Or did I already leave with questions unanswered?
